When I’m wearing makeup, I enjoy applying bold colours that suit my complexion. It’s a treat because I don’t wear makeup daily. Typically, I use skincare and a tinted lip balm or gloss. Done. However, SUQQU’s makeup has made me appreciate the look of a fresh, ‘clean girl’ makeup look. Recently, I trialled some of their new beauty products, including the Skincare Cream Tint. My face looked polished and bright. Now, they have created a collection of timeless neutrals. Just in time for the change of season, SUQQU has released their Winter 2025 Collection, HOARFROST ART. The collection has shades for beauties with golden and cool skin tones. I was sent an eyeshadow palette and a lipstick to try. The first thing I noticed was how well the shades enhanced my look. SUQQU’s HOARFROST ART collection has made me a believer in clean girl makeup.

What is Hoarfrost

SUQQU often draws inspiration from nature, and this winter is no different. Enter ‘Hoarfrost’. In the natural world, it is actually Hoar Frost, and the Woodland Trust describes it as ‘…a type of feathery frost that forms as a result of specific climatic conditions. The word ‘hoar’ comes from old English and refers to the old age appearance of the frost: the way the ice crystals form makes it look like white hair or a beard.’
SUQQU’s artistic interpretation takes it further and colours the occurrence. They called it ‘Hoarfrost’ and described it as the period when autumn’s colours deepen in quiet hush, hoarfrost settles softly on leaves and grass. Unfading hues of blossoms remain, gently embraced by winter’s translucent stillness – a fleeting vision of beauty that captures the quiet shift of seasons.

The Colours of HOARFROST ART

SUQQU takes inspiration for its Winter Color Collection 2025 from the natural occurrence of Hoar Frost. The collection is comprised of soft, muted tones. As fine as frost, the matte texture melts gently into the skin. Like hoarfrost touched by sunlight, delicate pearls impart a quiet, luminous glow within the coolness. This is modern makeup that is sophisticated, designed for the winter, but it can be worn all year.

HOARFROST ART SIGNATURE COLOR EYES

There are three eyeshadow palettes with shades of brown that bring depth to the eyes, finished with a frosted shimmer. The brown-based eyeshadow palettes come in three tones—natural, warm and cool. Layering deep, earthy shades inspired by fallen leaves and bare trees creates natural depth and definition. The top-left shade has a pearlescent finish that evokes the shimmer of hoarfrost.

I got the palette, S01 – SHIMOOCHIBA, which is a Natural Brown x Camel Beige, RRP£50. It’s a natural-toned palette featuring a yellow-beige and a skin-flattering brown and the top-left gold shade reveals green-tinged pearls.

two other palettes from the collection: S02 – SOUKA, a Warm Brown x Mauve Taupe and S03 – SOURAI, which is a Cool Brown x Ash Greige.

HOARFROST ART VELET FIT LIPSTICKS

SUQQU’s VELVET FIT LIPSTICKS are tres chic. For that, they have created two limited edition shades. Choose from the cool, muted rose pink or a striking, bright red that awakens the complexion. I was sent 106–YUIBENI. It’s the vivid red with the cool undertones that balances depth and brightness.

The other shade is 105 – REISAI, which is a rose pink with a perfect balance of cool undertones and muted depth.

My Results With SUQQU’s Winter 2025 Collection

I enjoyed creating looks with SHIMOOCHIBA and YUIBENI. The SHIMOOCHIBA eyeshadow suited my complexion, which has a yellow undertone. It is an all-rounder palette. In fact, if you have never tried SUQQU, it is the one. You can create a light bright look or a deep, dramatic one. Fairer complexions can achieve a smoky look with this palette.

I went for the fresh-faced, clean girl look using the matte shadows using SHIMOOCHIBA. When I wanted a glitzy look, a touch of the golden shimmer in the corner of my eyes added sparkle. Combined with VELVET TOUCH LIPSTICK in the shade 106- YUIBENI, the look was an easy day-to-evening look.

The eyeshadows melted effortlessly into my skin, and because it was such a good match, I didn’t worry about fallout. The lipstick is so slender that it made application easy and precise. The colour was long-lasting and made my overall look pop.

Each look I created was pulled together with COLORING EYEBROW 03 MAUVE  or 01 BROWN RRP £ 25 and BLURRING COLOR BLUSH 105 AKANEZOME or 04 KOINAGARE RRP £40.
