Keeping my skin hydrated as I age is an ongoing challenge, especially in Spring. I suffer badly with hay fever from late winter to early summer. Crap sleep, constant sneezing and runny nose takes a toll on my skin. I do drink water to curb dehydration but good skincare also helps my skin retain its moisture. I have been trialling SUQQU makeup and skincare for over three years and I’m never dissatisfied. Now that spring has sprung, I’m using SUQQU skincare to buff, hydrate and give me a youthful fresh-faced glow. Their new CLEARING SCRUB and AQUFONS SMOOTH RENEW SERUM make a perfect pair. Using those products as part of my skin care regime makes my skin look healthy and smooth. I feel skin confident. They are welcome additions to my spring skin care. Here, I’ll share how I made my skin glow using SUQQU’s CLEARNING SCRUB and AQUFONS SMOOTH RENEW SERUM.
SUQQU’s CLEARING SCRUB
When you are looking for luxury skincare it doesn’t get better than SUQQU. I value multipurpose skincare and SUQQU’S CLEARNING SCRUB (100G RRP£40) is just that. It can be used as a cleanser or as a mask. The consistency is quite creamy, smells exquisite and promises to purify and polish skin.
The CLEARING SCURB combines cleansing and polishing in one step. The clay-infused paste was developed to effectively remove dead cells, impurities and excess sebum without harsh stimulation. The formula combines high concentrations of scrub granules, clay, amino acid cleansers, and moisturising. In the paste there are two scrubs, one scrub disperses into finer particles when applied and the other dissolves during use. Then there are three types of clay: Moroccan Lava Clay, Tanakura Clay and Kaolin.
I mentioned the scent earlier, its divine. SUQQU describes it as ‘An aquatic floral woody fragrance for uplifting feelings and tranquil moments.’ SUQQU’s products always have a sophisticated scent story. The scrub’s top notes is a blend of bergamot and mandarin, and Kabosu citrus. The heart notes from lily of the valley, rose, jasmine,apple and honey. Then the bottom notes of sandalwood and cedarwood.
Scrub To Make Skin Glow
The CLEARNING SCRUB can be used as an alternative to your usual cleanser twice per week or as a mask once per week. The first time I used the scrub, I used it to cleanse, then left it one for 5 minutes as a mask. After using the scrub, my face felt soft and smooth, and ready to absorb the other skincare products to follow. I followed with a SUQQU serum then moisturiser and sun protection in the day.
I was very happy with the resullts and since then use the product as a scrub, when needed. Then follow, with my usual skin care products for moisture and sun protection.
Tip: a little goes a long way use the spatula provided and apply to take roughly the size of a 20p and place on damp face to scrub.
AQUFONS SMOOTH RENEW SERUM
I don’t use serums on a regular basis. When I do, I opt for a night serum so I can wake up looking ‘alive’ and hydrated. The AQUFONS SMOOTH RENEW SERUM (50ML £90.00 GBP and 30ML £60) can be used day and night. It was formulated to focus on “skin unevenness” such as texture irregularities that hinders radiance. Ingredients include Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, and Niacinamide. Non-comedogenic. Suitable for acne-prone skin.
SMOOTH RENEW SERUM is part of the AQUFONS collections. It contains “AQUFONS Complex which is mainly composed of naturally derived (AQUFONS Complex (i.e. Geranium Robertianum Extract & Zostera Marina Extract), and is infused with Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract. The scent is uplifting, and SUQQU describes it as ‘A refreshing blend of aquatic, floral, and woody notes capturing the essence of blooming nature.’ Top note: bergamot and mandarin with a hint of kabosu (citrus fruit) Heart note: fresh lily of the valley, rose and jasmine, apple and honey. Bottom note: sandalwood and cedar.
Hydration To Make Skin Glow
AQUFONS SMOOTH RENEW SERUM is the perfect companion for the CLEARNING SCRUB. Their scents complement each other. I make my skin care regime part of my mindful lifestyle. The products’ set me up for the day or wind down at night. After I cleansed with CLEANSING SCRUB my skin was ready to drink up the light-weight serum. However, the serum worked well with SUQQU’s VIALUME THE WASH.
The consistency of the serum is between water and a light jelly. When applied it absorbed very quickly into my skin. The recommended use is 3-4 pumps. However, for me, I found 3 good pumps was enough, then I followed up with my usual day or night moisturiser.
TIP: I apply with my hands but you can use a cotton pad to apply.
