Chances are if you’re a UK naturalista seeking hair care without harmful ingredients, you’ll have heard of Nylah’s Naturals. From its inception, Nylah’s mission was to create products that cared for and celebrated afro hair down to the roots. So, I was excited to receive an invitation to attend an event hosted by the brand’s dynamic founder, Kameese Davis. I am rocking a TWA for the 4th time in my natural hair journey. My hair is on a break from daily styling. 2 years ago, I noticed that the hair on my crown was thinner than the rest of my heard. Since childhood, I often wore my hair with a middle part. Perhaps combination of styling and menopause took a toll. At Nylah’s event I learnt so much about health, hair care and their services. Nylah’s Naturals offers a wraparound service for black hair care.
Nylah’s Naturals Event
A wide variety of print and online media, celebrities, and clients attended the launch of groundbreaking textured hair loss range. I met up with the editor of brownbeatuy talk, Ronke Adeyemi, copywriter Keysha Davis and journalist Kelle Salle there. The event was held at 33 Old Broad Street which was fitting for a brand. Nylah’s Naturals was one of the winners of Channel 4’s initiative Black in Business 2024 backed by Lloyds Bank. From the terrace, attendees looked out onto the vista of London’s core financial district. It was inspiring to be there and learn from and celebrate with Nylah.
FACT: 5.6 Million small to medium enterprises in the UK, roughly 10, 000 are black-owned.
Nylah’s Naturals London event drew key figures from the Black hair care space, including: Chizzy Akudolu, Diane Parish (Eastenders), Brenda Edwards, Dame Kelly Holmes. During the event, Kameese Davis, hair transplant surgeon Dr. Eleojo Achimugu, Trichologist Shirley McDonalds, and Dietitian Jasmin Carbon hosted educational workshops on Black hair loss, introducing guests to new products and the latest treatment approaches.
Part of the presentation was hearing customer client’s stories and seeing their results. We finished with drinks, food and networking.
The new products and services will come together under the umbrella of ‘hair wellness’. Kameese and her team are going to higher heights.

Kameese Shares Her Hair Story
“I went through my own struggle with central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA), at one point believing I’d have no choice but to wear a wig for the rest of my life,” said Kameese Davis, CEO and Founder of Nylah’s Naturals. “So, when I saw through my trichology scans that our treatment complex had helped to holt and reverse the progression of my alopecia, it changed my life. Today, I’m proud to share this breakthrough with Black women and men all around the world, offering them safer, effective options to manage their hair loss. The wig throw symbolises the beginning of a new era in Black hair care.”
Hair loss conditions like CCCA and traction alopecia remain under-researched, underfunded and under-addressed, disproportionately affecting Black communities. Beyond the physical impact, alopecia can take a significant toll on mental health, often leaving individuals forced into a lifetime of wig-wearing.
