Christmas decorations are being brought to the shop floor. I had a peek in TK Maxx the other day. Sidenote: I love their candles—affordable and pretty. I took a look at their snow globes. Can you really do Christmas without a snow globe? I think they are so cute and fun. They bring a forever-young feel to the décor, but I digress. Let’s talk colour schemes! Years ago, we started buying baubles and hanging decorations that serve as a base or grounding colours. We went with browns, reds, and whites because it’s so easy to slip them in to enhance the look. So, every year they come out. Pantone 2025 is Mocha Mousse. How would Christmas decor look in that colour? Let’s explore Christmas decorating based on Mocha Mousse, drawing inspiration from British high street stores.
Pantone describes Mocha Mousse as “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.” When used in interior styling, this brown gives a cosy vibe. During the colder months and over the festive period, the chocolatey aesthetic makes a space feel welcoming with a touch of decadence.
Pair Mocha Mousse with Champagne, Olive Green and/or Terracotta. Champagne gold adds a touch of luxury and sophistication
The easy way to introduce the colours is with home accessories, rather than paint. Add brown beauty angels dressed in gold to your Christmas tree. March Muses’ Beverley Angel in gold gives you the best of both worlds. Alternatively, if you have children, you may prefer ballerinas. Niyla Ballerina in gold makes a timeless choice
Gold baubles never go out of style. Rockett St. George is known for their bold and alternative home accessories. Their antique effect gold bauble garland is stunning
Then, for real coffee goodness, select their Coffee & Mocha Stripped Cushion.
ASDA George Home Xmas theme is Celestial Noel. The collection is inspired by folklore, artistry, and the mystery of the night sky. Select the forest greens from this collection, for example, the Festive Trees Fleece Throw (it’s 140cm x 180cm) to add softness to the room.
Finish with a festive fragrance. Fragence is well linked to memory. Choose the right scent and you will not only be creating a mood but also a lasting memory. Cast a soft glow with candles in the fragrance of Spiced Gingerbread
Frankincense and Christmas go together like mince and pie. Add a candle with a frankincense note not just for its glow but an earthy spice scent. Wax Lyrical Large Jar Midnight Ruby Candle is a good choice. Their Midnigth Ruby has with notes of berries and clove, cardamom, and frankincense.
An Alternative Palette For Christmas Decorating
If you prefer a more modern look for your Christmas decorating scheme, consider incorporating metallic elements. Staying with champagne but adding copper and brushed gold. Imagine the Christmas lights bouncing off those shining surfaces, and you’ll have a beautiful mix of shadows and glitter. It’s the ultimate festive vibe.
F&F Home’s Renaissance collection fits nicely with this palette. Their shimmering metallic details and delicate embellishment add a layer of luxuriousness. I’m fond of the glass star candles and room fragrances.
Let’s not forget Next Home! The Laura Ashley Set of 3 Gold Tone Glass Lit Christmas Ornaments is eye-catching and if one nutcracker isn’t enough, have two!
Set of 2 White Rosie and Bertie Nutcracker Christmas Ornaments are adorable. Alternatively, how about a mouse, not mousse. This pair are lovely jubbly. Set of 2 Gold Moose Christmas Ornaments.
