Second heatwave alert. Europe is blazing. The UK will have its fair share of the heat, which means more showers. I find that when it’s very hot, I don’t want any skincare or perfume that’s too sweet. Overly sweet scents on hot skin can become cloying. Instead, I prefer light, fresh, and sometimes zingy scents. SBC Skincare always has delightful scent combinations with textures that are always winning. In winter, their Spiced Saffron & Amber collection wrapped me in warm fragrance. Now, in time for summer, they have introduced Ginseng & Yuzu. It’s a scent I never knew I needed in my life. The Ginseng & Yuzu scent is quite cool, green, and uplifting. It’s great for a morning or afternoon shower. I’ve been using the collection intermittently since early May. I enjoy it best on hot days. The Ginseng & Yuzu products were PR samples, but opinions here are my own.

Ginseng & Yuzu Collection

Currently, the collection is small, blended for its uplifting, invigorating boost. In the Ginseng & Yuzu collection, there’s:

  • Ginseng & Yuzu Energising Body Wash 500mil £24
  • Ginseng & Yuzu Energising Body Scrub 200ml £22

SBC Skincare is known for its signature moisturising gel formula. Although there isn’t a gel in this collection, because the scent isn’t overwhelmingly, it can be paired with any of your usual moisturisers. For example, I sometimes follow with the Arnica Gel for a totally refreshing skincare experience.

Playing Cool In A Heatwave

May and June have been particulary hot this year which means more showers. I’ve noticed that for some years now the summers re getting hotter. Scientist say it’s because of global warming. The hottest days in the UK began in 2002. As a result, on such days I switched to less fruity shower products to feel refreshed longer. On particulary hot days, I start with the SBC Skincare’s Ginseng & Yuzu Energising Body Scrub. The body scrub is sulphate-free and contains with eco-friendly volcanic pearls, Ginseng, Yuzu, Ashwagandha and Maca Root. Altogether, the formula is vegan-friendly and makes for soft, smooth skin and positive vibes. It’s an deal way to kickstart the day or have an afternoon refresh to scour away sunblock and ‘the outside’ on returning home.

After rinsing off the scrub, I follow up with Ginseng & Yuzu Energising Body Wash. It also has ‘balancing Ashwagandha, Maca Root, and Lemongrass to help awaken the senses while supporting skin comfort.’ The creamy, sulphate-free wash lathers amazingly well but it doesn’t make my skin feel stripped. When I’ve completed my shower, my skin looks and feels hydrated.

Korean Ginseng and Yuzu helps to visibly brighten and awaken the skin. As I mentioned earlier I don’t us daily so those results may talke longer for me. However, what I want and do achieve from it more than anything is the cooling soothing uplifting feeling. Now, doesn’t that sound wonderful on a hot day?
Alternative use: pour generously into running bath water and soak. Bath lovers can try that after the heatwave.
