It’s often said that ‘black don’t crack’ and ‘Asian don’t raisin’, and this is the gene pool in my household. Nonetheless, I encourage my family to wear their sun protection. We have trialled a range of Ultrasun products over the years. We took their products with us on all our beach holidays and to Trinidad. The sun there is fierce. I value the fact that Ultrasun is always using cutting-edge technology. Their new products for 2025 will make it easier to include sun protection in our skin care regimen. I was sent two Ultrasun products to try. I was happy with the results. Best of all, the products are brown-beauty friendly. This is my review of Ultrasun’s Photo Age Control Fluid and Ultrasun Sports Spray.
Ultrasun Photo Age Control Fluid
I may not always apply skin protection to my body, but I’m good at using it on my face. It’s also part of my winter skin care regimen. I’m makeup-free most days, so I prefer having sun protection that doesn’t leave a cast. Ultrasun SPF50 Photo Age Control Fluid (40ml RRP £22.00) works for me.
Photo Age Control Fluid is lightweight. It felt so good on my skin, almost like a moisturiser. There wasn’t any tackiness to my skin after application. It can be used as a make-up primer with a 90% UVA filter. On the days I wore Photo Age Control under makeup, my skin and makeup looked beautiful, if I do say so myself.
The formula has a higher concentration of revolutionary Ectoin to help skin stay hydrated all day. Its additional features include:
- Non-comedogenic
- Water resistant
- Suitable for Sensitive
Vegan Friendly
Product Guidance: apply to clean, dry skin 15 minutes before sun exposure. Massage into the face, neck, and décolleté, then allow it to absorb before applying other skincare on top.
Ultrasun Sports Spray
One of my favourite sun protection products by Ultrasun is their Sport Gel, but the new version as a spray is amazing. It absorbs easily and leaves no cast.
The application is easier and quicker, which means even my fussy kids use it. My teen and pre-teen walk to and from school, so the Sport Spray makes sense for them as part of their teen skincare regime. I use it, as well as! I walk to and from the gym during the week.
I’ve used it on my face and body. The spray is fine, similar to a makeup setting spray. By contrast, it’s not as fine as the mist from the Ultrasun UV Face & Scalp Mist SPF50 RRP £22.00, which comes out like an aerosol spray. Ultrasun Sports Spray SPF50 (150ML RRP £28.00) absorbs super quickly, and it’s invisible once applied, and it’s not greasy. It was originally developed for sports enthusiasts and those who like to be active outside. It gives protection against UVA, UVB & Infrared A. Additional features:
- ACTIVES – GSP-T, Vitamin E
- UVA Filter – 95%
- Water resistant
- Vegan Friendly
Product Guidance: Apply indoors to clean, dry skin 15 minutes before sun exposure. It’s suitable for the face and body.
