During Lockdown my family and I really got into walking, to maintain good mental health. Albeit I was dragging them to discover hidden gems in Surrey. Recently we began visiting popular Richmond Park which is closer. Sure, we’ve visited the past, but now, it’s a must after a charity shop trawl in Sheen or retail therapy in Kingston. The only hitch with me and long walks, I must be warm. If I’m cold, then it’s time for the toilet train, choo choo! Aside from weekend walks, I’m a commuter. So, I usually wear a long red puffer coat from autumn to early summer but it’s not waterproof. Recently, I was sent the Tiegan Waterproof Coat from Fat Face for a feature. I love it! The Tiegan Waterproof Coat
Most mums will tell you, they need pockets in their coats. Although my kids are past infant stage, I still carry the odd thing for them be it pocket tissue, fidget toy or mobile phone. One of my favourite feature of the Tiegan is its array of handy pockets. It has seven to be precise one of which is an inside one pocket. As a commuter, I find an inside pocket a life saver. The coat zips up the front with a button down weather strip. The hood is adjustable and cuffs are elasticated to keep any chilly breeze out. Thankfully I haven’t been in the rain yet, but Tiegan is waterproof.
Lengthwise, the coat reaches me a few inches above my knew which is perfect. I’m 5ft 9inc. There’s less chance of being caught on a bramble and I’m ready if rain catches me out
Styling The Tiegan Waterproof Coat
On chilly days, I like to layer up. For my walk in Richmond Park, I wore long sleeved polo t-shirt under a light jumper with drill cargo trouser and walking trainers. On another occasion, I wore a crew neck jumper, cargo denim trousers and canvas trainers. However, on a warm Spring day a shirt or t-shirt should suffice.
Other ways to style Tiegan would be with dungarees, skirt or dress with trainers or boots. This coat will take you from rainy to sunny fresh days, whether you are in the concrete jungle or country woodland.
Coat Care
The Tiegan Waterproof Coat is machine washable but it’s advised that the coat be reproofed once a year dependent on its usage. The coating becomes less effective over time as it is affected by dirt and abrasion.
There are lots of different products on the market which can be bought online or from outdoor retailers for reproofing.
