Games night just got treacherous! My family and I were sent with new The Traitors Card Game (Special Edition) to review! We were excited to try it. We enjoy playing family-friendly board and card games together. Each member of our family plays to win for real, no sympathy. I was intrigued to see how the TV show would translate in the card game. I’ll admit two episodes into the 2nd series of the TV show, hubby and I didn’t get the hype. Things turned in 3rd episode! We were hooked. Suddenly, I was trawling the internet for embossed goblets at 11pm! Now that the UK series has ended Hubby and I are watching the Australian series. The card game promises to enhance your experience of the game and offers the option to use digital features that further immerse you into The Traitors’ world. It’s the ultimate test of trust and treachery, The Traitors Card Game (Special Edition).
The Premise Of The Traitors Card Game
As on the TV Show, in the game players are assigned the roles of FAITHFUL or TRAITOR. Secretly to build a central pot of gold. While The Faithful must identify and banish the Traitors among them to claim a share of the prize. The Traitors strive to remain undetected until the end to stealthily steal the coveted funds. However, it’s not as straight forward as you think. At the turn of a card you fate can change with potential murder or banishment.
The game requires strategic thinking to avoid becoming a victim. The Faithful must collaborate to uncover those working against them and ensure their survival.

How We Played The Traitors Card Game
Our family of 4 played the game and it was just as thrilling as the TV show. My eldest knew a bit about the game because he saw snippets of the show when hubby and I watched it. However, our littlest didn’t. Nonetheless she was till the best Traitor or us all!
In order to fully enjoy the game be sure to shuffle the the cards thoroughly and insert the Even Cards evenly. The events make the game most thrilling. My favourite card was the Dagger Card! The Dagger Card allows you to blackmail another player. You can demand to see a player’s hand, you can even take a card if you want BUT you can’t take the Traitor card in another player’s hand. However, the Dagger can can only be used once. I was fortunate to draw a Dagger Card. I blackmailed my daughter to see her cards. She was held the Traitor Card. We both kept our games faces one. Hubby and my son thought I was the Traitor. They voted me out, much to their surprise the littlest won all the money. She was the Traitor left standing.
We used the digital features via my mobile phone to cast our votes. It made the game feel more authentic to the TV show and added intrigue to the play.
You’ll need at least 4 players to make the game thrilling. The more the merrier; up to 8 players can play as indicated by the Player Number cards. You can decide at the start how many rounds of the game you will play which makes it easier for younger players to commit.
The Traitors Card Game Special Edition) is Ideal for family gatherings, get-togethers, and dinner parties. It’s rated aged 8 years and over.
Would you try this game? Will you be next best Traitor?
