You know it’s Spring when the ideal Home Show comes to town. The last time I attended the ideal Home Show was back in 2016! Whether you are a homeowner or renter, manor house or flat all are welcome. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or intimidated; the show sets an aspirational tone but you can still find affordable treats. Moreover, you’ll learn about the current interior styling trends, ways to make your home economical and see new gadgets on the market. I’m pretty sure I spotted a robotic vacmum for astrotruf! The entry ticket gives you access to the Eat & Drink Festival which is a good way to sample and buy culinary delights that suit your fancy. My afternoon at the ideal Home Show was well spent.
About The ideal Home Show
The ideal Home Show showcases the latest innovations, the brightest ideas and inspiration in one venue (Olympia London) to the hundreds of thousands of visitors. Fear not it’s not all homes and gardens. This year the show’s layout is divided into: Home Innovation; Gardens; Interiors; Travel & Leisure; Home Accessories; Spring Zone; Eat & Drink and of course Market Stalls.
On entering the Olympia London, you can grab a copy of the show map. Still, it’s advisable to plan your day in advance to ensure you get all you want out of the experience. There’s a LIVE time table so you don’t miss your favourite celebrity guest or expert …
FYI: the event shuts 5pm daily.
Personal Highlight from ideal Home Show
I chose to attend on day two of the opening. Easter weekend is likely to be busy. I’m not sure if it’s nostalgia but the show wasn’t as grand as I remembered it used to be. Perhaps 2:30pm was a bit late to arrive, since wthe show winds down at 5 pm. The Dream Home was lovely. It has pride of place on the Ground Floor.
The Dream Home has made me take a different perspective on Hydrangeas in a garden. The home sports a sculpted front-of-house boarder white Hydrangeas! Truly modern and elegant. Then of course the kitchen. My family love their food so kitchens are always fascinating. Magnet has sponsored and designed the Dream Home’s kitchen. Question: Can you have a love affair with a kitchen tap? Because I was swooning over the THE BLANCOCULINA-S II MINI SENSOR tap. Quooker is also on hand if you want to check that one out as well, at stand H420. You know, the tap that gives hot, filtered, chilled and sparkling water all from the same unit.
My trip was more for inspiration. We have no upcoming renovations planned but it’s helpful to see trends and styles in practice. One thing I did notice aside from the art work on entering, there wasn’t much peach in the interior styling in terms of a trending colour scheme. No Pantone peach fuzz in sight, that I noticed anyway.
The Easter tablescape at the Dream Home was colourful and cute like Spring a fairy tale. Think bold bright tableware, bunnies and flowers. The lifestyle gadgets were also captivating. For example, the Maxhealth Fitness Board. The board uses vibration technology to help you achieve better results with resistance, kinetic and strength exercises . Oh massage chairs are having a moment. There were a few brands at the show but I tried the DULX Model 3 Chair . I was stretched and massaged from my next to the soles of my feet. The perfect way to end the day after pounding the streets across London
The ideal Home Show is huge. Lots to see. The show runs from 22nd March – 7th April 2024, Olympia London. If you can’t make it to the show you don’t have to miss out. Pop over to their online store. There you can shop across seasons. Those of you who attend, let me know what was your best bit.
