I always say to me kids, when you want to know what colours go well together look towards nature. For example, look at flowers, each variety has it’s own distinct shape, colour distribution and scent. Recently we visited the Kyoto Garden in Holland Park to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. It was such an uplifiting experience. We followed it up with a morning at Tulleys Tulip Festival! The expansive field of colours was magnificent! I’m particularly fond of the varigated tulips. They are especially eye-catching. Consequently, when I saw SUQQU’s Pre Summer Collection, I wanted to try it. SUQQU also looks to nature for inspiration. SS24 is no different. Blossom Beat, the collection, delivers the vibrance of a flower market. SUQQU has masterfully harnessed the intricate colour gradation of flowers into a collection that will take you from mid-spring to early autumn. I was sent four products from the collection to try. It’s a triumph! SUQQU’s Blossom Beat collection made my melanated skin glow.

SUQQU’s Blossom Beat
The Blossom Beat collection is another success for SUQQU. The way the formula allows the colours melt into the skin and enhances natural features is second to none. It’s an actual joy to wear. The collection comprises of:
- SIGNATURE COLOR EYES 136 IROTABANE (Flourish Pink x Blooming Pink)
- SIGNATURE COLOR EYES 137 HANAMATOME (Pansy Purple × Sweet Violet)
- PURE COLOR BLUSH 148 AMATANKA (red blush & pink highlighter)
- PURE COLOR BLUSH 149 KIRAMEKINOZOKI (brown blush & gold highlighter)
- BLOOM EYE STICK 101 (Powder Lilac)
- BLOOM EYE STICK 102 (Lime Yellow)
- MOISTURE GLAZE LIPSTICK 101 ICHIRINKA (Brick Red)
- MOISTURE GLAZE LIPSTICK 102 SAKIZORA (Pink Beige)
I think the the pinks in palette IROTABANE would look pretty on a warm yellow undertone. While the purples from palette HANAMATOME the may suit cooler undertones. Thought, it’s really a matter of personal preference.
SUQQU’s Blossom Beat Glow Up
When I’m going out out, I treat myself to a DIY Gankin Massage before applying my SUQQU makeup. The massage takes roughtly 3 minutes from start to end. To create my Blossom Beat makeup looks, I used; SIGNATURE COLOR EYES 136 IROTABANE (Flourish Pink x Blooming Pink). For the 1st look; I used the 136 eyeshadow palette along with the BLOOM EYE STICK 102 (Lime Yellow), PURE COLOR BLUSH 148 AMATANKA (red blush & pink highlighter) and Moisture Rich Lipstick in the limited edition shade 123 SHAKUKA. I luv a coral lip in spring.
For Look 2; I started with the BLOOM EYE STICK 102 as a wash of colour on my lids, then topped with the sparkly light pink which has specks of minty green that popped depending how the light hit it. hTen, lined my top lip with the deep sparkly peachy pink and blended out lower part of the brow bone with the deep powder pinkish-peach. I pulled the look together with the PURE COLOR BLUSH 148 AMATANKA and my ole fave Moisture Rich Lipstick in shade 123.
Then for the 3rd look; I used the matte pinkish-peaches for the top eye lids and the lightest sparkle shade at the corners of my eyes. Then, I completed with MOISTURE GLAZE LIPSTICK 101 ICHIRINKA (Brick Red) on my lips.
My Thoughts On The Collection
It’s hard to pick a favourite look. I’m still thinking up other ways to use the palette. Nevertheless, I must reiterate, the formula felt good on my skin. While the mild iridescence captures light to make the skin look radiant. Even in the bleak light of a Spring days in London, I was radiant. Although the blush looks bold once applied is very forgiving. Even for someone like me who normally struggles with blush application was easy. AMATANKA landed on all the right points on my cheek and warmed my face. The lipstick looks and feels like a hydrating balm. ICHIRINKA gives a wash of brick red that’s enchanting, never over-powering the overall look.
I was very pleased with my looks. There’s something in way the colours all comes together pretty like Blush pink roses.
Beyond Blossom Beat
If you are curious how SUQQU’s makeup translates on medium to dark brown skin check out my reels on Instagram. Apart from Blossom Beat Pre Summer, 2023 had another show stopper collection, SUNFLOWER WONDER. The collection ‘resembles strong sunflowers blooming with dignity against the summer sky.’ The SIGNATURE COLOR EYES 123 SHOUJITSUKI was was my favourite. The sun yellow looked stunning on me together with the and warm pinks made for a show-stopping summer makeup look.
The summer 2023 collection inspired by the glittering shine of opal illuminated by bright summer light. SIGNATURE COLOR EYES 126 ASOBIKARI was a combination of purple and frosty blue shimmers to create a duochromatic, glimmering effect. ‘The matte mauve and muted berry shades add depth to the makeup, whilst glittery beige highlights the look.’ I must say that Spring 2024 palette 134 Sakurautsushi makes a good companion for 126 to create a bolder looks with mauves for the warmer brightier months.
