A couple of years ago, I was introduced to Jurlique’s skincare at a product launch for the Herbal Recovery range, held at the Sea Containers Spa in London. The recovery blend was designed to protect skin from environmental stressors. I especially liked the Herbal Recovery eye roll-on. When you work with screens as much as I do, you must care for your eyes. The Herbal Recovery eye roll-on helped keep the skin around the eyes hydrated and reduced puffiness. This spring, they released Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist. The mist couldn’t have come at a better time. The heat in London has been almost unbearable this summer. I was sent a mist to try by the PR team, and it has been my constant commuting companion. As with all Jurlique products, Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist is packed with skincare goodness.
Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist
Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist is a fine facial mist. It is Jurlique’s first mist clinically proven to provide up to 24 hours of hydration, while nurturing both skin and mind. Enriched with farm-grown Holy Basil and Aloe. Jurlique says, “The refreshing formula helps to tighten the appearance of pores and enhance skin’s natural glow. Its exclusive fragrance revitalises the senses, transforming each application into a moment of self-care, refreshment, and wellbeing”
As for the ingredients, as mentioned is Holy Basil, which is grown on Jurlique’s Biodynamic Farm https://jurlique.co.uk/pages/the-farm in Adelaide. It’s an aromatic, perennial shrub that’s often used in Ayurvedic medicine. The herb is classified as an adaptogen, which means it helps the body cope with stress.
Other ingredients include aloe vera, marshmallow root, Virginian cedarwood essential oil, Lemon Peel and spearmint.
Key Benefits: Provides Instant and Long-lasting Hydration, supports the skin’s resilience for a radiant look, helps tighten pores and instantly refreshes. It helps protect against dryness, provides antioxidant support, and helps skin recover from the visible effects of daily stress.
How I Used The Mist
I was sent a sample of Jurlique’s Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist (RRP£36) in June to try. It was immediately put to the test. I’m a commuter, and most days I don’t mind the journey, but this summer my resilience has been tested. In London, we went from a heatwave to extended weeks of heat over 25 degrees. Naturally, the temperature underground or on a packed train would feel higher, and I hate crowds. So, I packed my beauty pouch with supplies, which included Jurlique Aloe Hand Cream and their Holy Basil & Aloe Hydrating Mist.
The mist calmed and refreshed me on cramped underground trains. A few quick spritzes made me feel refreshed and calm and improved the air close to my personal space, if you know what I mean.
User Tip: The mist can be used on the face and body. Apply when the skin feels dehydrated.
Honestly, the mist is too precious to me; I’m stretching it for as long as I can. It is restricted to my face to prolong its use. The mist absorbs quickly into my skin. I noticed that when I used the mist on my face, I felt a boost of moisture. My skin looked more hydrated and felt as though it had a light protective barrier. Sometimes I used it over makeup before applying a makeup fix. There was no disruption to my makeup because the mist is fine. I’ve reserved the mist for after makeup application and during commutes, and I am pleased with the results. I have sensitive, mature skin and the Jurlique products I have tried have always performed well.
