In 2023 Pinterest predicated that Mush-rooms would be an interior styling trend. The Highstreet shops are finally catching up with on all things mushroom décor with whimsical cottagecore vibes. Although, AW24 has other exciting trends hitting the shop floor this September. Whatever your flava there’s something for you. Personally, I’m a nature country cottage aesthetic kinda lady. Now that the mushroom and pumpkin delights are out, it’s time to choose your interior look for the colder months. If you are not feeling the cottagecore vibes, how about Dark Opulence or Primitive Essence by George for Asda. Maybe you are gaga for Beetlejuice. Bold monochrome stripes by Rocket St. George is perfectly elegant. Shapes and colours are exciting as well! Rich regal tones can take you from country to goth. Here are the some AW24 interior styling trends you need to know about.
AW24 Interior Styling Themes
Last week I attended George Home’s 10th birthday party. At the party guests had the opportunity to see the AW24 products, along with their At Home With Stacey Solomon collaboration. George narrowed down their themes to give 5 concepts:
- Cosy Cottage Craft– folk art meet modern craft
- Dark Opulence – think Gothic mystique
- Modern Renaissance– modern elegance with historical charm
- Pumpkin Charm– whimsical and magical inspired by timeless folklore vintage allure
- Primitive Essence– organic elegance and spiritual serenity inspired by Earth’s beauty
Retailer NEXT is going with Pumpkins, spice and all things nice. Think, traditional autumn leaves, fairy tale motifs, quirky prints and in textiles that invite you to linger and lounge.
When know the aesthetic want, then, you can curate the home you love.
Shapes
Curve appeal was another trend that made its debut in 2023. It’s hanging a bit longer. Curved edges, sculpted and rounded chairs, tables and smaller accessories create modern charm. Avoid the hard, cold vibe by choosing textures and materials that cosy and luxurious. For example the re-edit of Pierre Guariche’s Valle blanche Chaise Longue, the form is exquisite!
If you are thrifter this is the season to for your eagle eyes to find beautiful heritage pieces from charity and vintage shops. You can use your find as it is or upcycle and give it a new purpose. Facebook Marketplace is great for finding just those right pieces, as well. Three years ago, we bought a beautiful sideboard cabinet for about £60 all solid wood through and through.
You can also purchase on of a kind pieces from local artisans to showcase your personal flare.
Buyer’s Tip: if the wooden unit has beautiful woodwork but costs less than you expected, always check the draws and back panels. Sometimes plyboard is used to make item affordable.
Colours & Patterns
Autumn/winter is season for the deep majestic tones. The colours almost replica what’s on the catwalks for AW24. Reds like fruity berry. Gem tones of emerald, amber, onxy and monochrome (black and white). The 2024 pantone peach fuzz is a pretty accent shade that goes with them all. Contemporary furniture manufacturers like Ligne Roset make pieces that come in a wide range of textures and colours. The Pierre Guariche Jupiter Armchair can be ordered in over 200 shades!
On the note of monochrome, you can go checkered like F&F’s collaboration with the Style Sisters . Alternatively, if you are gaga for Beetlejuice, Rockett St George’s signature looks for the season features stripes! It’s a bold look autumn / winter 2024.
